How the West Was Lost

Yuri Bezmenov, a former KGB agent, explains how the Soviet Union was working overtime to destabilize the Western nations through a calculated program of: a. Demoralisation b. Destabilisation c. Crisis d. Normalisation

Though he doesn't touch much upon it here, the USSR was helped along every step of this program by leftists within the target nations. Some of these were unwitting dupes whose egalitarian fantasies led them into the enemy camp. But most were, in varying degree, conscious and willing apparitichiks of communism. These leftists formed an effective Fifth Column; using their positions as educators, journalists, historians, artists... to parrot the lie.

The USSR has morphed back into Russia - and it's neighbors, but the program has, if anything, escalated. Not having an external enemy like the Soviet Union to rally against, Americans let down their guard; but the Fifth Columnists are still embedded among us. Some of them have adopted the camouflage of "neo-conservativism", while others have remained openly "socialist", i.e., communist. They appear to be political opposites, but both groups serve the same ends and same master.
